That time of year...

Now, I hate to put a downer on things but have you noticed that it’s spider season? I know they are not everyone’s cup of tea, but their sudden creepy presence is a sure sign that the weather is turning which makes me think - Have you thought about getting your garden winter ready?

It’s not as daunting as it sounds so here a few simple steps to get you started:

Don’t let leaves build up, clear up as you go and they won’t get too overbearing.

Don’t forget to cover furniture and take cushions inside - avoid making the same mistake as me, I leave it too late in denial that summer is over, then it rains and then I have them all lined up in front of the radiators to get them dry!

Now is also the time to plan your spring bulbs, so get thinking about what colours and styles you would like. Start looking in the garden magazines and online for any bulb promotions available.

And of course don’t forget the wildlife - top up those feeders.
