PartY GARDEN

ss0

The clients required a party garden to compliment their new extension and entertaining space, taking full advantage of their sunny aspect, yet providing a sense of privacy. This party garden was split into three sections…

Client comments:

‘Sarah is amazing to work with, taking time to understand what you need and like. The designs were great and useful for a visual reference. The plants supplied were beautiful. Sarah was on hand with advice and help whenever asked, nothing was ever too much.’

This garden was split into three sections. Paving flowed continuously from inside the open plan kitchen entertaining space through to an open outside space, which accommodates a dining area and a casual sofa seating area. In the centre section two u shaped raised beds provide a cosy seating area and separate social space. The final section opens out onto a simple turfed space in front of the newly built summer house. The raised beds were given a tiled finish to match the overall theme, complementing the inside decor and style. Slatted fence panels were installed above the original brick walls to provide privacy, yet still allowing the light to filter through.

Planting was kept simple and repetitive for maximum impact and included Stipa Tenuissima 'Pony Tails', Agapanthus africans 'White', Allium sphaerocephalon, Pittosporum tobira 'Nanum', Digitalis purperea ‘Camelot Cream’, Trachelospermum jasminoides, Acer palmatum ‘Sango-kaku’, Lavandula stoechas ‘Madrid White’ and Viburnun tinus ‘Eve Price’
